Melat's Ethiopian New Year Celebration
On September 11 2026 Melat hosted her 2nd Annual Ethiopian New Year bash featuring traditional coffee and snacks followed by an iconic set of Ethiopian rhythms she spun for the after party. This project was supported in part by a Austin Live Music Fund of Austin Arts, Culture, Music and Entertainment.
Austin's 20th Annual Bat Fest
Every year, crowds gather at Congress Bridge to celebrate the largest urban bat colony tucked beneath that very bridge. During her set, Mélat performed her latest single "Cool Summer" and invited the audience to learn a few beautiful phrases in Amharic.
Texas Conference for Women
Mélat provided the melodic interlude for the Fall 2026 Texas Conference for Women at Moody Center. This event shared the stage with icons like America Ferrera, Hoda Kotb, Tunde Oyeneyin, and several other influential figures.
